Roberts allows White House ballroom construction to resume
Chief Justice John Roberts stayed a preliminary injunction on 21 August 2026, allowing above-ground construction of a 90,000-square-foot State Ballroom at the White House East Wing to proceed pending further order of the Supreme Court.
