Ownership and funding
Readers deserve to know who is behind a publication and who pays for it. This page sets that out.
Ownership
Bushletter is an independent Australian publication. It is privately owned and operated, and is not part of any media group, network or larger publishing company. No political party, lobby group or outside investor holds any stake in the publication.
How we are funded
Bushletter is funded by two things: advertising, and readers. Advertising appears in clearly marked positions on the site and is sold directly. Reader subscriptions are free, and support the publication by building the audience that advertising sustains. We do not charge for access to our journalism.
Editorial independence
Bushletter maintains complete editorial independence regardless of any commercial arrangement. Advertisers have no visibility of, or influence over, editorial decisions before publication. No advertiser or commercial partner can commission, amend or suppress a story. Where commercial content ever appears, it is labelled as such and kept visually and editorially separate from our reporting.
Standards and accountability
Our journalism is produced under our editorial standards and our approach to AI, and errors are corrected under our corrections policy. Questions about ownership or funding are welcome at [email protected].
